I am a data scientist by profession and need help with a decision.
My current role is purely technical and hands on but pretty restricted. I can't decide if I should move to a managerial role (~30% hands on maybe) from this one.
Assume the pay is same and I have ~4 yoe.

How much money is enough money?
Interviewing with a bunch of companies but dont know how to make a tradeoff between the role and culture vs comp. How do y'all think about comp?

Would you:

Go for a perm position for a large manufacturing company recruiting assemblers and Machinsts in aerospace. 70k

Or

Temporary contract with the government recruiting for various low skilled work with higher than average wages. Min 82k with possibility of extension

Is moving from Product management to management consulting a right move given the future growth and compensation ? I have around 11 plus years of IT experience largely in Product Management.When I see LinkedIn profile of management consultants I see few of them get hired on C level positions in other companies but do not see that for Product manager except starting their own startup.Need suggestions if i should keep this transition dream or not
