I was a '21grad on prelaw track but networked my way into a DEI consulting gig. studied history so not at all savy when it comes to business acumen. enjoyed my DEI job until the boutique firm restructured and booted the entire DEI team. I want to pursue a career in ESG work but can't find entry lvl positions so want to become a management consultant 1st.. super motivated to do any amount of learning needed but seeking advice on how to timeline or structure myself from actual consultants

Which is the better career route, investment banking or law? Which one has more opportunities?

I have recently left Big 4 Consulting few months ago (5+ YOE) and joined a boutique. I am not enjoying my role here - is it bad to leave after 6 months?

Anyone here who made the exit from Big 4/MBB consulting to a VC? If so, I’d love to hear about how the experience is so far. (Not to mention the WLB and comp!) I’m considering a career change but have no one in my network I can go to for insights. Thx! 🙏🏾

Hi! I have worked in management roles in tech, mainly in analytics, for approximately 10 years. My TC has fluctuated (currently around 135K CAD), but it seems like it's relatively easy to breach the 100K bar, but hard to breach the 150K bar. I now work at the CBC, but I have worked in the private sector too. What is the most realistic way to move to 200K? 1) Continue moving the ladder to a VP position, 2) Switch to Pre-Sale, 3) Switch to Consulting, 4) Work from a U.S. company from Canada.

Right now I’m currently unemployed and taking a break from my fine art stuff to try to get back into tech sales, but I was looking to expand my skill set and also generate extra money at the same time.

Curious for those in public accounting right now….are any of you open to leaving still with busy season coming closer? I know when I was in public, I was hesitant from 1/15 until 4/15 but wasn’t sure if this is still the norm? Hi all, I have a question, is it a smooth pivot to switch to production (film, entertainment), creative production? What do i need to do(steps to take, improve a specific skill, gain experience to breakthrough? I have a creative background and also have experience in Ad production as Brand side.

Currently a first year staff in Risk Advisory in a Mid-Tier Firm hoping to move to Big 4 for either Risk or Cyber. When would be the most appropriate time to make the change? I heard that Senior Staff in mid-tier would most likely be hired as an “Experienced Hire” in Big 4. So would it be smarter to make the move now as a first year staff since I’ll be considered Experienced Hire anyway?

I'm SVP/strategy for a PR agency. I moved into PR, Healthcare, and Strategic Planning only 3 years ago. An agency recruiter is trying to convince me to move into a GSVP account role, assuring me "at that level it's all strategy." (I dont think she understands the words she's using. Or that I'm qualified). But long-term, knowing account roles are so much more plentiful than brand planning in PR, I'm wondering if I should start thinking about account. Anyone here moved from strategy to account?
