Hello, I’m am thinking of making the switch from ID to a small plaintiffs PI firm. In general, what are bonus structures like for plaintiffs PI firms? Has anyone else made the switch from ID to plaintiffs PI? Can you please share your experience and thoughts with me? Pros and cons?

Generally speaking the money is so much better. Be careful with a solo practitioner. But your work ethic from billables will translate well in the Plaintiffs firms.

The bonus structures are all over the place depending on the firm. It really doesn’t seem like there’s any consistency with compensation for the Plaintiff side other than it should be based on what you bring into the firm in terms of fees.

Thank you so much!

Any experience working @ Chad Jones law?
I’m currently discontent with my income.
(3rd year. Salary=80k and no performance incentive. I brought in $1.4mm AFTER partners claimed over half of fees on my big cases.)
I see CJL offers an incentive+ base but I’m curious about that structure.
Any good or bad firm culture to speak of?
Is it impossible to actually earn a respectable incentive bonus?
Am I going to have some partner come cut me out of any cases where I might actually make a solid fee?
