I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?
Helo everyone, I had an interview scheduled with Cognizant on last week of Jan 2022 but due to technical error in Verification code I couldn't join interview lobby. I reported the same to the HR and I was told the interview will be rescheduled. Now there's no update from the HR. Could you please guide me how can I proceed or any email address to which I can inform to take the rescheduling process further.
Thanks in advance
How do you all deal with the guilt of leaving a comany/ team? I have been working at Microsoft for 1 year now, and seriously considering moving. I find the code base to be very legacy and I mostly work on obscure bugs that I spend so much time on, mostly due to navigating this large code base and not having much docs to refer to. Hence I find the job slightly unsatisfying, and that I could learn more elsewhere. However, I love the wlb, the team and company culture. The guilt stops my applying.

Hiring starts earlyyyyyy. You can start around Feb/March next year.
If you’re paranoid about getting a spot, some firms are already silently advertising spots for next year with some law school clerkship committees. Maybe reach out to them and see if they know anything?
Yes, I did see that some forms were already posting and hiring. Do you know where a good open clerkship community would be to start looking and keep an eye on? Thank you!
I was in a similar boat last year and started thinking about it/ interviewing in February and March. Made a decision by the end of April
Thank you for the advice!
I applied in November and accepted an offer by end of December, for a start the following fall. I was very early, but I note that hiring does start early.
Yes, I saw things open up so I got nervous that I was behind on the application. Thank you for sharing your experience!
