I started as a procurement agent making $50k
That’s very good to read. I wasn’t sure what salary range to be w/in post-graduation. I’m about around there (above, not below) when compensation arises as the topic.
Have you had any internships? You could try to find some paid ones. Won't pay as much as an actual job, but it's something to put on your resume while you look for a job
Yeah, I had a paid summer (2022) internship w/ a company I’m currently awaiting a third interview for. It’s a Logistics Coordinator position in Austin, TX. The internship was in Logistics too. I asked for $56K; do you think that’s w/in normal range for the situation? No years of experience outside the company and fresh out of college, but also familiar w/ the department and company.
Where are you located? There are plenty of open positions in supply chain management here in Tennessee
I’m in Central Texas - specifically Austin.
I graduated three years ago and went into a Supply Chain Analyst role. I still am three years later. This is one of the roles you should apply to kickstart your career in SCM.
For entry level roles you can start with logistics coordinator or warehouse operator positions. You can also be a logistics technician or purchasing agent. There are several roles that you can start with in supply chain management.
DM me if interested- EY hiring entry level SCO positions.
I would recommend any specialist or analyst titles in procurement (buyer), logistics, order management, operations, supply chain or inventory planning to get your foot in the door. The analyst roles will give you the background to understand how both product and people operate in a supply chain environment. Then in 1 to 3 years, you’ll be ready to take on bigger roles.
Sounds like you are on the right track with applying to logistics coordinator roles but you can try for supply chain planner jobs too. Even if the description says they want someone with experience, apply anyway. They may pick you, that is what happened with my first job.
I started as a logistics analyst. My starting salary was $62k in NYC.
Hi, OP! Where are you located? This is actually my first job in this industry. You can apply for any entry-level role to start your career in CSM.
