I did this at 5mo pregnant. Told them once I signed the contract. Make sure you do a little digging into their benefits to see if they have a mat leave policy in general (it won’t apply because usually you have to be at a company for 12mo to get full benefits) but it will be telling how much they are open to giving you the much needed time off post birth.
I had this happen to me a few years ago and I was fairly far along (like only had 3.5 months of working time left). I told them as soon as I started the role, given the timing. Not ideal but I’m still at the company 3 years later.
You should have done it when you were negotiating your benefits package to ensure mat leave.
This just happened to me and I’m 5 months pregnant. I told them as I was about to sign the contract.
