My situation is generally that for the past 6 years I built up what was a fairly successful practice in New Jersey that was completely decimated by COVID-19 restrictions. I'm tired of the consumer practice game and want to move into an adjacent field/not be in an attorney role. Ideally looking for something as an employee (starting a family and need some semblance of salary stability for their sake).
Any advice? In Jersey City, so open to NYC-centric ideas.

I’m an associate in biglaw. Practice group has been med mal for a year and a half, but have four years of broad litigation experience. Let's talk legal recruiting. It seems potentially lucrative, but also saturated and very difficult to stand out other than on existing reputation. To that end, (1) how do you break in as a practicing attorney, (2) what skills and experience are useful for good recruiters, and (3) what are compensation ranges? Assume a major market.

Thinking about taking a high level (think cabinet) at county-level (major urban center) entity. Coming from V10. Thoughts on ability to get back in to biglaw after a few years?
