Hey all,

So I am graduating from my MBA program in May. I am fortunate enough to have gotten an offer to join an FLDP program with AT&T and also got another role as Strategy Analyst for American Airlines.

Everyone I speak to says take the FLDP program.

Which one would you advise, and why? Both pay is similar, both COL is the exact same.

My goals are to:
1. Make a lot of money and fast while working manageable hours (50 max)
2. Have multiple opps where I don't have to restart anywhere

FLDP is the safer and more structured option. You won’t have a lot of risk there. Might be a bit slower, but it’s less volatile.

Airlines are notorious for low pay.

Honestly as someone actively in the process of leaving AT&T and who has no real love for the company in general, they do well by their development programs. I went through TDP (technology development program) and really enjoyed my time for those few years. It's a great way to have some stability and a structured avenue for career advancement and growth. And I believe all development programs still end in a big in-person networking event in Dallas, which was actually pretty fun.

I don't know much about AA, but there are worse career springboards than AT&T development programs for sure.

Hello,

Both options are strong, but if your goals are fast growth, long-term earning power, and flexibility, the FLDP program is often the smarter choice. It gives broad exposure, leadership visibility, and multiple paths without having to start over.

I actually know someone who helped my brother make a similar career decision and position himself for long-term success. You can reach him at:

Trust your goals, the right choice is the one that keeps doors open.

I agree with Manager 1 above. FLDP is definitely going to be the safer option of the two. That is probably the option that I would take but I am not much of a risk taker haha.

FLDP. Hard to move up quickly at AA

like

Totally agree, and AA isn't in a secure position right now. Tread with caution and don't get your hopes up, especially the fast pay

like

I think the key decision point is do you want to move up within Finance? Or do you want to move into a different function.

like

Former ATT -start in the FLDP and move around as most peeps do. These folks are protected and move up fast. Prob half are any good but get protected asmentioned. I was in you shoes 25 years ago and was frustrated with this company. I left and eventually came back. If you want to make he big bucks go into AI.
