hey, I’m in need of some advice! Hopefully, I haven’t screwed myself over..so I get a call for a job and they initially offer $62k with a $1000 sign on bonus, I countered at 65k bc I knew I deserve more pay but I was afraid to actually ask for much more than that. They verbally accepted my counter offer but have yet to send me a written offer I can sign. I completed research on the position and salary for my area and realized I aimed low based on edu,& exp..I countered again at 72k was I wrong?

Started in public accounting (audit) in January. I’ve been told by coworkers that it’s ok to “not know everything” and “to make mistakes” when you’re starting off but at the same time, I don’t want to push the envelope. My past few engagements have been frustrating because I’m new and my past team members are too overwhelmed to teach. I have also been making mistakes. My fear is suddenly getting laid off because of a scathing performance review (which hasn’t happened yet). Any advice?
