I’m a self-taught developer with 1.5 years of experience (no CS degree). I’ve worked on small freelancing projects using Python (web scraping, automation, AI/ML), React/Next.js, and basic JavaScript. I’m not into frontend, and I haven’t explored cloud tech yet.

- Gaining credibility without professional experience
- Which tech stack to focus on (e.g., Python, Go)

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me.
