The salary is really low.
OP, that's really low given your experience. I say this because my base out of undergraduate was $75k (in Toronto). You should negotiate
Given your visa situation and current state of US immigration...you should go for it. I wouldn’t expect a company like Deloitte to underpay you at a given position...but, negotiate if you can get the next designation (automatically you would see higher salary)
Sure, Thank you for your suggestion. I will try that
Rising Star
OP, you need to stop listening to people who provide no insight other than “OMG, that’s low”. Salaries are offered relative to the local market pricing not what they are in another country. You need to evaluate whether in the salary band do you sit given your experience IN THAT MARKET. I would think that you can easily be awarded 110-120k CAD for that amount of experience and skill set. Negotiate.
A life without permanent uncertainty is priceless
I think as someone else mentioned, really try to negotiate hard even in this market. Maximize your compensation by emphasizing the value of your experience etc. But at some point you have to also consider living a life of certainty- assuming you already have or will soon have a Canadian PR and then citizenship, you can do a lot of things without always thinking about a ticking immigration clock. Canadians have public healthcare, and whatever people say about the wait times, when it comes to catastrophic illness, you will have great healthcare without the worry of a potential bankruptcy or stressful negotiations with your insurance company. Canadians have better work life balance- the Canadian outdoors are beautiful, especially the West side. The life factors that I just mentioned are hard to put a dollar amount on- as I have got older, these seem so much more important to me.
This is really low
Congrats! Could you please elaborate on how you got hired..what worked what didn’t...for someone who is looking to go that route as well? Also, do you have Canada PR ? TIA.
I got Canadian PR through Express Entry and tried to move internally within Deloitte
Op, how challenging is it get an offer from Deloitte Canada? I heard if you have a job offer from a Canadian firm, getting a work visa beomes easy.
Never mind, reading the full thread, i got my answer.
Hello OP , Did you get any revised offer ?
Wow that salary is low. Can’t believe they didn’t start PERM stuff for you.
Convert 100k usd to cad. They are paid less...but shouldn’t be this much less.
