Have recently appeared for the interview at IBM . Actually I want to work from home or wfo but the city I want to be my native city Ahmedabad. So when I appeared for interview they asked me to provide preferred location so I have to choose pune as my native city location he said not possible. So my ques is can we change location once we get selected to other city i want where the ibm ofc is there???
Plz put some lights on this.

I was in same situation.
There are 2 situations over here.
1. Try to get changed location if you are negotiating your offer. They will say they have to check if there is vacancy in that location but 90% of time you will get desired location.
This is the best time to het your location changed.
2. When you join IBM-
Changing base location is quite hectic thing.
Y come across a people manager.
This person has some power to change your location.
Secondly there is a market place - start hunting for a project in your desired location.
In case if you get assigned a project at your base location then as per policy you can’t request for relocation for 24 months.
I made a mistake of not changing the location while negotiating the offer so I left the organisation within 2 months of joining.
Might be after some years you can check with your PeM regarding transfer.
