Hey guys! I am currently in the process of studying and applying to take all 3 exams of the NCIDQ. I was wondering if anyone had tips or advice on how/what to study or even for the actual exams themselves. I greatly appreciate any advice people could give me who have taken the different exams. Thank you in advance!

I took all three at once. My advice is to leverage your learning style to your advantage. I learn by reading, and since I worked it was hard to find time to study. So, I recorded myself reading each chapter of the textbook. Then I could listen to my recordings while I worked and get more studying in. There are multiple versions of the tests so there is no surefire way to know what will be on yours, so best to study it all.

Thank you! That’s a good idea to record yourself reading the chapters. I listen to podcasts all day at work so I could easily listen to my recordings to get more study time in like you had said

I have a few questions for people in consulting roles (both external/internal).

My partner is in corporate banking, but he wants to switch to a consulting/strategy-based role. I noticed people with those jobs typically have an MBA, and also majority of the job ads in similar roles has MBA as either a requirement or preferred qualification. So:

1) does MBA actually improve someone's chance in getting those roles?
2) are there any good Canadian MBA programs you'd recommend?

Thank you all!

I have a return offer from a big 4! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience as an intern and have no complaints. Would love to go back.

However, a bit confused if I should try and recruit with MBB’s or if I should accept the big 4 offer already and take the sign on bonus?

Would it be a blunder to NOT try recruiting with MBB’s ? Besides the monetary aspect, what are the other things I’d have to think about?

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

Kind of a quick rant. I did a quick search through some firms websites because I am thinking of switching jobs. It is definitely clear most firms still do not embrace diversity. I know diverse applicants must be just as qualified! So what is keeping attorneys of color out?? It’s so discouraging.

The requirements are insane to officially “resign” - draft a motion, pay a fee, send proof of service - I honestly do not know what this nonsense means, I’m not a litigator for a reason.
