I want to change from marketing to interior design. Any advice regarding what might be a transitional job (ex. account manager in design firm) and courses that would quality me for a more technical job in the field?

I’m currently at a small luxury residential design firm where I have been for 3+ years, and have a total of 6 years of work experience including internships. Currently making 63k but this feels low for Boston and compared to all of my friends who are not in the ID industry .. is this normal?
