It's always easier to find a better job when you have a job. Take this offer and keep looking for the next best thing! Good luck!
Are you guys hiring
Coach
Yea I would take it for now because it’s better than being unemployed. But I’d definitely be looking for a new job while I was working there.
I would take the position as noted by other respondents. I have recently been in the exact same situation, and accepted a position with a starting pay of almost $20k less than my previous job. Take into consideration the insurance benefits, savings options and of course the steady income. Now, with the increased number of recently laid off workers, we all may be in a similar situation, fighting to keep our jobs!
Congratulations and good luck in any future endeavors!
Yes
I'm in the same boat but after 6 months I've only had one offer of $62,500 and then they offered the job to someone else the following day. IMO, take it!!! It might not be the perfect fit but you can always continue searching for a hire paying position. The job market is tough... and it's going to get worse!!
Tip: You can open a Roth IRA anywhere, you don’t need your employer to plan for retirement.
Something is better than nothing. Take the job and either get a raise or keep looking for something better.
I think it is silly to pass up a job and just not work at all because you might find something that pays more later. Take the job and keep looking, your wallet will thank you later…
My only issue is that vacation time starts after one year, which is fine, but the 401k starts after five years. The 401k is the only problem.
As someone who had the same issue with the last job that I accepted that did not pan out after only a month due to no fault of my own, I recommend you weigh out all of the pros and cons on a piece of paper before you decide. Having income is better than not having income, take it from someone unemployed for 9 of the last 12 months! This won't be your last job and you can use it as a placeholder / stepping stone temporarily!
It is easier to find another job when you are already working.
The 401k starts after 5 years
I agree with the other comments
Take the job and keep looking.
No, I would not.
Know your worth.
It may mean 5 years until you're fully vested. I wouldn't let that be a deal breaker if you have no other offers on the table.
I would keep looking g
What are your other options and how is unemployment treating you
I am receiving unemployment
No , know your worth. I get the urge to get a job , but if they really want you they will pay you. Deloitte 1 is right you can take the job and keep looking for one that matches your salary requirements.
It’s more than unemployment compensation. I’d accept.Maybe you will enjoy it, and if not, there will always be another opportunity.
My question is if you are currently getting unemployment and you accept a job offer then in a few months find out it's not the job for you can you go back to getting unemployment?
