Which skills you have overlp this role? The trick is to bridge your current skills to IP, maybe highlight transferable experience like negotiation, research, or legal processes in debt recovery. I once made a switch by tailoring my resume with IP-specific keywords before I had any actual work in it.
Sounds amazing, I hope I helped.

I've done some collections work and a lot of work with IP (mostly trademarks but a little in patents). My suggestion would be to familiarize yourself with USPTO (United States Patent & Trademark Office). There are some videos and training-type materials on the website. Patents can be more complicated than trademarks, but they are both somewhat routine in their individual processes. Do some case studies/summaries of each to get familiar with the processes. Luckily, USPTO is all public record so you can follow a patent or trademark through the entire process. Being familiar with the process and the terminology will go a long way during an interview even if you don't have the actual experience. Your experience with debt recovery will be helpful if a trademark or patent is challenged or goes through litigation. USPTO has its own "court" for litigation so your experience with debt recovery would be a plus.
Thank you so much for explaining that, I really appreciate it!
