Hey guys, I’ve recently started interviewing for a position outside my firm. I was wondering who makes the decision to hire? Is it the interviewers (MD’s, VP’s, analysts) or is it the recruiter that reached out to me who gets the final say? I’m crushing it with the directors, Vp’s but not really talking too much sith the recruiter. Please help

I’m any effort to get my application noticed, albeit LinkedIn easy apply, does it look bad to reapply to the same position through a second post for that same role?

I currently work at a large research institution and am in the process of getting retroactively reclassified to a new title (Long story but my PI is cheap and routinely pays ppl the bare minimum so now the Union is helping me w/ a retro reclass.) Reclass can take 2 - 6 months to process. Meanwhile, I am interviewing for industry job. If I get an industry job, what do I do if my reclass isn’t processed yet? I want the title and the money owed which may be about $15000- 20000.

I messed up my screenshare in a meeting with 2 colleagues and showed my personal email that had scheduling info for my onsite interviews with another company. I closed it but it was up long enough for them to see it. Now they both pretend like they saw nothing and I felt panic for some reason. How were your experiences when letting it out the bag early like that?

VC community - a recruiter (from an external agency) reached out to me in regards to a strategy position in the VC firm’s local office but I feel tremendously under-qualified as someone with less than a year of consulting experience. Do I have a chance to interview? How might I best demonstrate interest and competency?

I am giving interview for data analyst roles and the level of SQL which is being asked is like above anything and I am making a fool out of myself in front of interviewers. General W3schools or resources are not serving the purpose. Can somebody help me how can I prepare well ..

Is it a good idea to go into SaaS pm role just for the sake of breaking into product management? Seems like b2c/consumer product management is the more popular one and is harder to get into from SaaS than the other way around. Just got my first PM gig offer and I’m trying to decide if I should keep interviewing
