Is it the interviewers (MD’s, VP’s, analysts) or is it the recruiter that reached out to me who gets the final say? I’m crushing it with the directors, Vp’s but not really talking too much sith the recruiter. Please help

I come from a target school in India (say MBB / T2 hires from my college every year) with ~1 YOE in consulting - based in Dubai. Starting the interview process at a competitor and the people I will be interviewing with know my current team members just from being in the industry and I think some even used to work together. I have been approached by 3 separate HR people at a startup company to interview for a position. I already have a fulltime job that pays well and I only started 6 months ago too. Anyways, the pay was intriguing and the job was a high level scientific advisor so I did interviews. At the last interview, at the end I was told the job was for management but I prepared for a different kind of interview. I am waiting for an offer or rejection letter. I feel peeved that they wasted my time. Red flags?

I’m not designated a senior associate, but my small firm (boss, myself, and a paralegal) is hiring a recent grad. Still needs to pass the hazing ritual (aka bar exam). I will be supervising the new hire. Should I get them a welcome aboard gift or wait for exam results and get a welcome to the club gift? Or both? Ideas for either or both?

I had two recruiters today reschedule a meeting. And this is the second time rescheduling. Honesty, not sure what value recruiters bring. Is this common now? Is it hard to have respect for people’s time and their schedule? Reschedule once I can understand. But twice is just stupidity. I hope AI wipes out all bad recruiters who don’t give af. Sorry for the vent. Maybe it’s just my bad luck then.

Currently a big 4 consultant and got an offer from FAANG for a strategy and ops role that would bring my total comp up 60%. I’m really grateful for the offer and really excited, however, I am also interviewing with MBB. It has always been a goal of mine to work for tier 1 strategy firm as I’ve always felt on the outside looking in at big4. I feel like most exit ops from strategy would be S&O industry roles but still can’t get these MBB firms out of my mind. Am I just overthinking this?

I’m in FDD… I know I signed up for this but there’s something about the anxiety that comes on a Friday knowing that we still didn’t get access to VDR .. and how that anxiety grows as you enter the long weekend knowing that access can happen at any minute (or not) and you have to tippy-toe on the idea of potentially cancelling on your memorial weekend plans. I know the unpredictability of our job but phew 😮‍💨

Lots of talk about CohnReznick on here lately… let’s address a few points.

1) Yes, our salaries are in line with B4. Happy to discuss specifics with the skeptics.
2) We are one of the few firms still actively hiring people without FDD experience.
3) Our WLB is miles better than B4.
4) Yes, we are paying strong referral bonuses because our practice has literally doubled in the past year.
5) All of the above is due to a strong pipeline and significant growth within the practice.

Had some interviews with Deloitte this week in FDD was supposed to have 2 more next week but they changed scheduling and said 1 of the partners was busy and the other just wants to do a phone interview rather than video now. Am I being paranoid or is this actually a bad sign
