Go for Telecom IT. Provided you don't get a support job. I have been in Telecom vertical in IT sector for close to 5-6 years now and I've seen many people staying in various companies easily throughout the pandemic. If they left, it was of their own accord.
But yes, both Telecom and Investment IT sector are time consuming and hectic verticals. Be ready for approx 10-12 hour work day.
Agree. IB would be fast paced and high pressure, Telecom would be fast paced but not exactly high pressure. Considering the current situation, Telecom is an evergreen sector too. There is a lot of potential opportunities since there are so many countries having very bad telecom infra and its time to upgrade those.

Is it recession proof? As the business involves alot of risk
