It can be brutal with tons of red tape - regulatory and otherwise. Most clients come from a science or health background with minimal marketing experience.
There is no more work/life balance than anywhere else and it can be brutal just like anywhere else. Everything in terms of types of projects and all core marketing initiatives and principles are exactly the same. It's just the subject matter that's different. And you need to learn the FDA regulations and industry process for approving promotional materials. I've worked on lots of specialty pharma, rare diseases, oncology, mental health, adult vaccines, pain management.
Disagree. Most clients come from sales and think they know promotion. That, or business school and actually know marketing, but Zero technical knowledge...
