I found out our HR wasn’t closing the loop with candidates after we’d made our decisions and was furious. It’s just decency.

Impossible. Herculean. We need to cut them some slack.
Imagine if you didn’t close the loop on a work conversation w strategy, account management, your ECD or even client. You had the convo but didn’t connect about the resolution. What would happen to an art director or copywriter in that situation? OUT!
It’s honestly egregious. It takes two minutes to follow-up.
I’m convinced their first born will vanish into thin air if they dare follow up with someone who didn’t get the role.

“You don’t understand. We work for the hiring company, not the candidate. We don’t care if the candidates are ghosted and left for dead because they don’t pay us.
Who are you? I’d like to make sure you’re on the blacklist.”
I feel your pain! It’s so rude.
If the role stays open for months, they don’t send a rejection email till that role has been filled. Curious, who exactly they are looking to hire, that they keep advertising the same role over and over again when hundreds of people have already applied?
They leave us all on read like backup b’s and then email us “wyd” one random morning.
I’ve recently seen several recruiters lose their job and are LI looking for opportunities- and I pray for karma. Like WTF!!!

I outed a recruiter on LI who had ghosted me twice during job searches, yet had the gall to post a virtuous screed against his colleagues for doing the same. His reply was a masterpiece of groveling hypocrisy.

Because if you close a loop it stops being a loop.
It’s fun for them to let me sit in a cycle of thinking I maybe made it -> I suck at this and my life is worthless -> oh maybe I’ll hear next week
Not a good reflection of the company they work to for or the company/client they represent. Reputation should be everything in recruitment.
Why close the loop? Makes the guessing game more fun when you feel like tomorrow will be the day I reach out to you 🤪
Oh, I guess this didn’t come through as satire
