Is it easy for engineers to become TPMs?

I posted this somewhere else before I remembered that I am in this bowl :) so, I changed jobs 6-7 months ago and I am realizing it is not a good fit. Leadership seem to not want to hear the truth so people tell them what they want to hear and if you don’t middle management gets pissed at you. I am seriously thinking about looking somewhere else. My question is how do you answer the “why are you looking to leave” question without bad mouthing your current company?

I am so tired of being treated like an assistant and I’m at a loss on how to correct it. My coworkers are generally nice, but while I watch white (usually male) associates at my level or even more junior get substantive work, I’m still receiving administrative tasks as a mid-level. Appreciate any advice.

Suppose there are two candidates A&B for a senior level position.
Candidate A is having 10+yrs of experience and 3/5 tech stack required for the role.

Candidate B is having 3+yrs of experience and 5/5 tech stack .

Compnay likes both candidates , Candidate for rich experience and Candidate B for skills.
