I have friends that have back office positions but never received an offer letter & their company still doesn’t use them now. Has anyone given notice & started a new position without an offer letter? Do international companies provide something else in lieu of a formal offer letter? I know offer letters aren’t legally binding anyhow, but seems they’d provide something. (International = Canada)

So I was offered a role in Strategy Consulting in after 2 years in Risk Consulting however, after 2 years I’ve only worked on Internal audit engagements few ad hocs such as updating risk register and the delegation of authority matrix.

Honestly speaking I am doing good and I am up for promotion in October however I am not fully enjoying my time but I fear that the move would not be a good and I can’t hit the ground running which scares me.

Any advice and past experiences in such career shit?

Does anyone think it’s weird that my firm is bending over backwards to try to keep a first year staff from leaving the firm after she was rated a 2 this year. They watch a lot of news, politics, stock market, and sports. However not much more than that. I feel I’d be fine with that if they were in their 80s or older but they’re early 60s.
