Company CEOs are hoarding money right now because they're getting ready for a huge crash, prices are skyrocketing here in the United States across all states. With that said, right now is first quarter, budgets are in place and companies are looking to hire new candidates. If your current company will not give you a raise and you are desperately needing one you can either apply for the higher paying position. Or what I recommend, is start tailoring your resume and applying to new positions that will pay you market value.

Asking for a raise less than a year into your first job isn’t a great look.
No reason not to apply, but you took the original offer on your own.
