Is there any advantage to telling a company you are interested in working for in the future where you decided to accept an offer from? Or does it not matter? I accepted an offer a week ago with a great company (Company A) that for this season in my life seems like a great fit and only strengthens what I have to offer company B down the road. One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

To my understanding dealmaking/structuring is a major aspect of senior positions and I would like to gain more experience in that space. There's an opportunity for me to take up a role in Corporate Development and Transaction Services (I am currently in a CD&O role), will I actually get what I'm seeking in that area + is this overkill for someone looking to learn sales skills?
