Do you disclose when you were promoted on your CV? I’ve been as a assistant manager for over a year but have just been ‘promoted’ to manager. Have been doing the same role for the entire time… only thing that changed was my official role title. Do I need to split this out into two roles on my CV?

Would ideally like to keep as one optically to avoid having to ‘spend more time in the manger role’… as I’ve been doing that role for a year now and keen to move on!

I’ve been working in public accounting (audit) for a year and I don’t enjoy the work and don’t see myself in this position for much longer. I’ve been thinking about going into marketing but stuck on how to get started. I know I have no prior experience, but since I’m early in my career and with taking some courses/certifications (Google analytics, SEO, etc.) to boost my resume, I’m hoping to make the switch. I’m not old BUT when I was younger I thought it was important to have all the alphabets after my name (I.e. Phr, SHRM and all the others). I learning that the younger crowd coming into the market thrives off these identifiers yet they know very little about the real world aspects of the job. I watch leadership roll their eyes at the email footers. I feel like keeping those attached to my name hurts my credibility so I removed them…. I’m I thinking wrong?

We have a program at my company that I’m networking to get into, but believe it’s prudent to diversify options, as there is obviously no guarantee that they select me for the program.

My boss assigns projects with unclear expectations and provides no guidance on how to achieve them.

I've asked for help, and, to avoid a long post, she expects me to figure it out. Perhaps you go through this too, but when I don't have a clear guide on completing big projects, it paralyzes me because I don't know where to start. On top of that, I have anxiety, so "it has to be perfect".

I often feel like I would enjoy client facing or advisory work because it would help me build a skill that could translate to me potentially running my own advisory firm one day… I feel my role just looks at numbers on a page which doesn’t help me develop translatable subject matter skills or expertise. Been with company for 2.5 years in a SFA role, and they just let me hire an associate financial analyst reporting into me. My manager never mentioned anything in regards to a promotion, but when I asked, I was told that there will be an evaluation period before any promotion is given. Has anyone else had this before, where you are managing someone but they don’t give you a promotion? Sounds bizarre to me that they allow me to hire someone but then are hesitant to promote.
