How much time do you spend after regular working hours on learning and improving technicals? I feel the most challenging part for this job is not just to complete the client work but also endless learning which requires a lot commitments after work hours.

Have you seen women wear ties and "masculine"-looking suits to work? Was it accepted by client and team? I've never worn a tie to work, but when I've worn clothing that had a more "masculine" fit either in grad school or some work environments, I've gotten comments and looks, or sometimes asked (or people gossiped) about my orientation. When I wear more "feminine"-looking clothing, I feel more more uncomfortable and awkward. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Trying to get into a big, famous shop. But everything good dies at smaller shops in my town (not NY or LA) bc of the client or CDs that never made it. Feel like I’m stuck in a loop 🔄

Currently I work for a small company that does the construction of small cell utility poles and roof top sites for the major cell carriers like VZW, T-mobile, AT&T and so on. I am a project coordinator but I do everything under the sun. Created project tracker. Submitti bids, sourcing material, negotiating price on materials, handling post construction inspections, scheduling sub contractors, notifying stakeholders, coordinating with construction managers - property owners - building management.

Looking to begin a career in Financial Analytics. I am an Economics major that graduated in Dec 2020. Since then I have been an Operations Analyst at a FinTech company. I also have some past experience as an analyst at a small business lending company in college. I have been applying for jobs for the past ~6 months. Been with company for 2.5 years in a SFA role, and they just let me hire an associate financial analyst reporting into me. My manager never mentioned anything in regards to a promotion, but when I asked, I was told that there will be an evaluation period before any promotion is given. Has anyone else had this before, where you are managing someone but they don’t give you a promotion? Sounds bizarre to me that they allow me to hire someone but then are hesitant to promote.

I'm 4 years into my career, currently I work at one of the largest public advisory firms writing research and taking advisory calls with CIOs/CFOs on strategy around IT Cost Optimization, IT/technology finance, benchmarking, budgeting etc. I enjoy the role but fear not being able to do much with this experience.
