I passed all the steps all the way to Sr Director, but didn't get any response, including rejection. Is it normal for Nordstrom?

I’m in interviews with a few companies. It was initially to see what was out there to negotiate my pay. Now, I’m seriously considering leaving my current company because of what one of the prospect companies represent: everything I want in a company/role. So I have been made an offer by a company I like but it’s pretty similar to my current package (I also like where I am). The recruiter is pretty intense and is pitting me against another candidate but says I’m the number one choice and is asking me for a number to say yes “but not too high or the team will look at the other candidate”

Key positives for my current employer are pay and security. But my new role within the company isn't working for me, and ultimately I don't think it is for the company either.

A much much smaller (20 people) company offered me a role.

With the global economic situation as is, is it worth the risk to change to a job I know i'd like more with less pay, and potentially less job security?
