First interview will be very basic. Tell me about your background (exp should align to the role youâre interviewing for/working in a similar role/space) Why google, why leave your current role (which you should answer as âwhy googleâ), 2-3 job related questions (e.g. how would you approach your book of business, can you give me an example of a time you had to deliver bad news to a customer, etc).
I would also have an answer ready for youâre expected comp, if asked. Personally, i would ask what they have budgeted if they ask you. And if they give you a range you can say something like, âhmmm Iâm really interested but thatâs a lot lower than the âall inâ at a social media company where Iâm interviewing for a similar role.. is there room there if I interview well?â
Thanks so much for the insight, and sharing some of the questions especially regarding comp. As in the last few interviews with others they have asked this but wasn't too sure here. Will keep this all in mind.
Congrats on the interview! Take a look at glassdoor interview tips, practice practice practice until you feel confident
Hi everyone,
Thanks for the tips & feedback. I had the interview last week & it was pretty intense, they were going pretty deep. I know some said the first interview they're trying to get to know you but they were asking some deep situational questions. Honestly, what helped me was having 5 interviews with other companies before this one. Anyways, we will see if I make it to the next round đ€·ââïž
Nice work! Practice makes perfect. Best of luck
What were you doing before? Try to translate as much experience as you can from your previous jobs into the needs of that role. Look for ways that projects and other tasks have overlapped with the job description at Google.
