Hi Fishbowl family! I am a senior consultant at a big 4 and need some serious guidance. Which sector to specialize in? promotion and career progression are very important to me a) Consumer products/retail (7 years of exp, with 5 years in a top ecomm company) b) Tech (no tech exp or education). The only reason I am considering tech is cause I want to work in a tech company post consulting and also don't want my skills to become obsolete given all the hype around tech.

Looking for thoughts.

I have 13 years of experience as a Business Analyst at various capacities (Regulatory, Data Verticals) in Banking with Bachelors degree in Accounting & Semi Qualified management accountant

Currently pursuing PGP in Data Science and in verge of completion.

Alongside I have got certifications in Cloud & Visualization tools.

Now I want to move completely to the Analytics/ML side. Will the companies consider my BA experience in Data & Regulatory experiences?

Resume/LinkedIn question:

I am a senior student graduating in a couple of months. I am going to join Google this fall as a SWE. My previous work experience includes an internship at Google, and a summer spent working on open source (PostgreSQL) during Google Summer of Code. In addition to a lot of college coursework projects (CE major). Most of these projects are worth mentioning and they cover a diverse range of fields.

At what point should I drop coursework projects from my Resume/LinkedIn?

Still a blank slate in terms of tax experience, but I honestly do have a slight interest in international tax. Brought it up and I was given some names to find some work opportunities in that area. Besides SALT, any other specialized areas I should try to get some experience in? Also open to any tips and tricks to help tailor my workflow and experiences for the months to come.

High performance wagons? Have under 2 years left on my m340 lease and really wish we got more wagons over in the States. Anyone have any recommendations for consideration? 2 kids fit fine in my car now,
but could use more space and do not want a SUV.

'22 Lexus GX460 or '22 GMC Yukon SLT?
Both cost around the same - Lexus is more reliable and likely holds its value better but the Yukon is bigger and likely even safer.

Does anyone have advice about interviewing somewhere with bad Yelp/google reviews? Is it OK to ask about it in an interview? Does any law office, for the most part, have “good” reviews, especially family law? The reviews I read on lots of law office pages are usually people who are accusing the firm of over-billing, not doing enough work or losing/obtaining an unfavorable outcome. How much attention should one pay to this when looking for a new firm at which to work?

With my promotion in a month, I’ll be hitting 100k and I want to only leave if I can get 110k or more (going for strategy, PM, and a few startup roles). Is that realistic? whens the best time to leave for max comp in the long term?
