How much time does it take starting from the lawyer reaching out to you and then you receiving the approval.

I believe most members of this group are tense & anxious owing to the uncertainty surrounding H1b. Can we have members post some positive stories here ? Cases of extension/transfer approval( w/wo RFE)

Current salary range for business immigration attorneys in NYC?
(One year of immigration experience. Two years of business immigration experience.)

I am an senior associate at a small (8-10 attorneys) immigration firm in NYC. My base is 110k and I get 30% for the cases and clients I bring in. My revenue was 370k last year and I did 250k till April this year.

My issue is, I have so much firm's work that I have hard time to work on my cases/clients. It feels like my cases are supposed to be done after hours (like after 6 pm). My work hours are crazy. I feel this is unfair and since my firm's taking 70% of my sales. Should I ask for a raise?

We all had the same responsibilities, I consider I even had a heavier workload (talking in past tense since I very recently made an internal move).

Hi Everyone - Need some insights. My PERM process was started by company in Feb’22 (currently awaiting wage determination, submitted to DOL in May’22). Its been months and DOL is working on requests from Jan’22. My H1B expires for good in Oct’23 (with all the recapture). Is there any chance I’ll have my PERM completed by then? For those of you who have been through this process, what was the overall timeline like?. Appreciate any insights you can help provide! TY!

How has been the approval rate after RFE for H1B?

I applied for a job at Visa and was contacted the same day. A few days later I had a 30-minute screening interview with the hiring manager. I knew I was very early in the process since the job had only been posted for a few days. It's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard back, even after reaching out to the recruiter. Have I been ghosted or is there still hope? Does anyone at Visa have insights? Looks like there are a ton of jobs posted so maybe they are just backed up?

If I move from Risk to PI, do I need to file and H1-b amendment? The work I do is going to be the same. So there should not be any changes as such in my scope as stated in the original H1-b filing

Hey guys! Currently in WM ops at Morgan Stanley for the past 1 year dealing with alternative lending, I’m super underpaid with 3 years of experience which is very frustrating. (73k). Have been at Morgan for 1 year and looking to come over to JPM for an ideal pay bump, but would like to get into IB type roll. Any insight on what I should expect or how to go about applying? Maybe even getting referred? I have a deep knowledge of investments and always felt inclined to go down this route.

I was promoted to SC in Aug 2020, and milestone year shows 2024 (4 years).

Is this normal I thought SC-M was 3 years and 2 for an early promo.

USI folks - Do you know if the Sum assured of the health insurance offered by Deloitte is for per year or total. Context, I am currently at Deloitte US and thinking of requesting a USI transfer because of a serious health issue for one of my parents. Would be really thankful if someone can clarify 1)Will parents existing conditions/treatment (Chemotherapy ) be covered from my day of joining and 2) Will sum assured will reset every year (if yes, then when, January or our FY).
