Hi Folks, Anyone willing to share insights about AlixPartners in Milan? I couldn’t find much on internet. Basically I’m just trying to understand a bit more about the office culture, size of the teams and typical engagements, comp&benefits and career path. The position will be Vice President. Currently I work on a boutique firm in London and I’m trying to move to Milan without compromising too much my current position (SC) and comp.

I know most of the office is ex-Kearney. I also believe the office lead partner is a former Bain senior partner. Wish I could offer more help but that is what I know.

Anecdotally, out of the consultants (MBB and others) in my class at INSEAD, the Italians and Spanish seemed to have the lowest pay across geographies. I think you’ll have a difficult time finding a job that pays the same as in London. Usually it’s the Italians wanting to move to the UK for pay.

As currently I’m around 70k + bonus, conscious that I’ll have to take a pay cut, I was expecting to be in the region of 55-65k for the VP level. Am I too far from reality? Obv, that’s one aspect as I do consider many other things such as wlb, other benefits, team culture etc which are equally important to me (coming from IB originally WLB had become extremely important..)

Happy to chat. I worked there

For what it’s for VPs in the US start around 160k plus 50k bonus (USD). Not sure what the conversion would be.

Interested in getting others perspective here. Senior consultant but received an offer in healthcare industry for more money and an upgraded title. TC for the offer is about a 25% increase, with the base being higher than my current TC. Currently working on a high profile client and have a decent chance of being promoted to manager next year but will probably go through hell this year to get it and it’s not a sure thing. Should I take the money and run?

Seeking advice on how to choose between a mid tier technical accounting advisory offer and Big 4 audit. Worked in audit at a local firm and wanted a bigger platform. Would love to switch to advisory to be more well rounded. Mid tier advisory offers higher salary but also thinking big 4 has a better platform and maybe better exit opportunities in the long run? Insights please.

After your first job, how relevant is GPA. For context, I went to a school that is very well known for grade deflation (Deloitte had a “suggested” minimum of 3.2 here) and I studied statistics, a particularly rough major at the school. Long story short, GPA was between a 2.9 and 3.0. This wasn’t due to slacking and I’ve done well at Deloitte so far with plenty of experience to speak to. Would my GPA still block me from certain firms, like any of the MBB firms or a Tier 2 consulting firm?
