Really depends, I was b4 fdd then left for FP&A and went back for mba at top 20 school part time, ending up going back to FDD bc money wasn’t there in industry/finance roles unless crack upper mgmt levels. WLB was more predictable/stable, idk about better though.
I did but WLB would’ve been tougher as I inquired and they told me travel expectations would be 80-90%

Lol my corp dev clients on live deals work banking hours and they have constant deals.

Consulting doesn’t work 100 hours per week or even close to that, average around 50-55 even in MBB.
At the end of the day you’ll likely have to leave FDD anyways unless you make PPMD somewhere so if the exits here don’t entice you it’s probably good to switch paths
As someone in FDD looking for jobs in industry, I can’t seem to find anything that would match the salary. So I’d say FDD, but more importantly pick a sector that your like or you’re passionate about and try to learn about other services specific to that sector. Makes you more of an advisor instead of a FDD person as you go up the ranks
