Hi, I am a current HR Manager looking for a new role. My boss has a LinkedIn recruiter seat and I want to turn my open to work for recruiters on. Would he be able to see this? It says online LinkedIn tried to not allow recruiters from your company see this but cannot guarantee

Now this may be bold - could you ask your boss to try? Say you’re trying to test and see from a succession management or attrition risk standpoint point if the recruiter seat shows internal folks with the banner on?

I’ve always avoided it since I was wasn’t sure.

I suppose you may need a more tailored reason BUT this would definitively let you know the answer. Good luck, you got this!

Have you tried posting in the job referral and job openings boards? You might be able to gather some leads in there. Best of luck to you.

I haven’t. Are there any specific ones you recommend? I’m based out of NYC/ LI/ Queens

Hi there - I believe that your manager is still able to review that you are open to work. I also have LinkedIn recruiter and can see internals that are open to work from my company. Keep in mind he would have to intentionally look you up or source for someone with your background to see you. Hope this helps!

like

Thank you

I can confirm that they would be able to see. Especially if they ever used LinkedIn recruiter functions during your original hire process (ex. They put your profile in a project to track progress and outreach for a role). I have a recruiter seat and I got a notification when someone I had hired 2 years prior listed themselves as open to work.

like

I would assume there is still a small risk. I would be cautious and maybe turn it on briefly or rely on direct outreach instead.

like

They are able to see your Open to Work status. LinkedIn is not able to keep it anonymous from a Recruiter Seat. Only on the regular profile are they unable to see.

like

Thank you

Yes, he will be able to see that you are open to work. If he is a professional, he will not say anything.

I have always been supportive of other team members who feel they need to move on. You may hate to see them go, but supporting team members who want to better themselves is important. Off-boarding is just as important for a company’s image and culture than onboarding.

Hi, I am currently working in Qatar as an HR Administrative Officer in the oil and gas sector on the North Field South (NFS) project at Gulf Asia Engineering Projects. Our clients include Ten.CCC and QatarEnergy. I have nearly 2 years of experience in Qatar, along with 2 years of prior experience in India.

like

Yes, quite probably he would do, because you will have your company name on your profile there may be an algorithm that brings your profile up.

I would just suggest that you type in the word recruiter or something similar, and search for recruiters in LinkedIn instead! Find them, instead of letting them find you, and keep your privacy.

like

I'm the type that I will let you know my reasons and that I will be exploring options. Either the issues work out or everything is transparent beforehand.

like

Yes your HR Manager will see your open to work banner.

like

I would not do it. If a recruiter is looking for your skills and experience they will contact you if they are good.. Your manager could be tempted to start looking for a replacement. Anyone could mention to him that you are looking and even a outside recruiter who's looking to fill your role .

Remove them easy fix

I know everyone has helped answer you question, but wanted to provide a helpful alternative coming from a recruiter. Since you are unable to show yourself as "Open to Work", one thing you can try is inputting your achievements under each of your work experiences on LinkedIn. Recruiters search via keywords, not always just job titles or "Open to Work", so this can help you show up in their searches even if you can't list your status.

Agree with others - stay away if you are not ready for him to see it.

Considering a Product Owner role. Any best practices of what questions to ask during an interview? First phase deals with a virtual Teams interview with the recruiter and her manager on Tuesday. Excited since this is a hop from a Product Analyst role and entails an offer of over $30,000 from what I'm getting now! This would be a permanent full-time compared to my current contractor role that ends in March.

Interesting all the noise about these PPT, my take:

The pandemic took all the upside of an IB analyst life (client meetings in person, fancy trips, suit up, worshiped at networking events) and left all the juniors with the downside (long hours, monkey-like type of job, aggressive work environment).

Not that the complaints are not sort of legitimate but you may need to revise the decision-making process that led you to accept a return offer. Specially if you were looking for less hours.
