Fully remote roles make up probably 1:10, if it’s even that high… and they receive 80%-90% of the applications… people who are currently in remote roles aren’t leaving them, because they know the odds of them getting something else is slim…
To further the matter… a lot of companies are changing their work posture in 2026 to hybrid or full RTO, if they haven’t already… my wife is a (I guess) mid-level executive for a bank, and she’s 4/1 hybrid… I’m fairly high up at my company, and I go to the office everyday, unless there’s a reason I need to stay home… we don’t even hire remote anymore, nor does her company…
I congratulate you on your amazing life changes… but the remote work world right now isn’t exactly the easiest nut to crack…
I’m starting to see that as well.
Congratulations on your life changes. It sounds exciting. Finding work this time of year is difficult. Finding remote work This time of year is next to impossible. All you can do is keep applying for positions as they come up. There’s probably 200 people applying to everything you’re applying for so persistence is your friend.
Thank you for the encouragement! I am definitely still going to apply.
Remote roles seem to be really hard to find right now. I would suggest networking and trying to get a referral. Sometimes that can help you get your foot in the door somewhere.
