I had applied for a Optum - UnitedHealth care Strategy and Consulting roles. The requirements were a perfect match and I even got referred to the role. Inspite of that, I got rejected at the resume level. Getting picked at Optum is as hard as getting picked for a FAANG role. Anybody had this experience before & any idea how to overcome this bottleneck?

I want to join a start up in my industry but I need to rescind a job acceptance from a more establish company. I resigned from my old job and didn’t start the new job yet. Is the non compete I signed, as part of the job offer acceptance for the position with the bigger company, enforceable if I rescind my job acceptance before I actually start a new job? I don’t think it is. I didn’t receive a sign on bonus so no additional consideration was exchanged from my understanding of my law classes.

My dilemma:

I'm at a LMM investment bank. Can get crazy sometimes, but otherwise chill. Typically done around 7-9 pm, had maybe three 1 am nights. Haven't worked a weekend in over a month. Fridays almost always done at 5 pm.

Have an offer at a reputable MM bank but probably pretty sweaty. Worth the move?
