Has anyone recently gone through an H1B transfer where the paystubs submitted to the new employer/immigration showed 0 hours worked (warn notice period), and if so, did that cause any issues—especially in cases where you hadn’t formally communicated your termination to them?

Wanted to understand what happens in FAANG companies if H-1b visa runs out and there is no I-140 in place to extend visa beyond 6 years. Do they transfer the employee to a non-US office E.g. Canada? Does anyone here been through this scenario?
