I've experienced this, it sucks! Just remember, that it's not your fault. At one job, I constantly was asking my boss for more work and to do more tasks and to go to training courses. And nothing happened. I didn't do anything wrong to make him not trust or like me, but it still hurt my self-esteem too.
And don't tell potential employers the exact reason. You can def word it differently, and make it sound like you want a new challenge or something positive like that.
Thank you Alyssa. 😊 While it’s sad to know you’ve been through this too, it is helpful to know that I’m not alone. Horrible way to treat people.
Thanks for the advice too. Thinking of saying that I’m looking for a change of direction.
Your old boss wants to break you down. Don't give them that. I had a situation where I was forced to quit. It made me sad. Going into the details and exposing them isn't worth it. In time truth will come out. My family, friends, a few potential employers, and a few former colleagues know what happened.
You aren't alone & it wasn't a nursing job. Although, they can be brutal. Apply anyways, you are worth respect, and they don't deserve you. You have a lot to live for. It will haunt you what they did. Believe me it haunts me how they were, but I'm in a better place. Pay is less but quality of life is better.
