What do you want to do in real estate? Pretty vast opportunity.
I’m not even exactly sure…lol. Originally I considered flipping houses or buying/renting out duplexes/fourplexes.. but I’m not even sure where to start..
not a good time to become an agent, or mortgage broker. personally, I'd try sidehustles first - throw yourself into the local real estate investor groups and immerse yourself in what's going on and what's interesting to you - and where people are hiring or what help they need. Try to find anyone hiring, looking for help, of anything you can offer. If you want to flip or buy and hold, you gotta find deals, and if you can find deals, you can make money wholesaling them or keeping them better yet if you have the means. Beyond side hustle try to find anything in the space that is of interest - property management, leasing, etc... in my opinion, things in the residential side are likely to be locked up here for a bit -- imagine you have a 3.5% loan and you want to move... and your interest is double but your income is not terrribly different than when you moved in... you're stuck pal! that's what is playing out -- demand is there from buy side at least for well heeled renters who are sick of both nuisance increases and Large $250/mo increases... but supply not there on sell side - so things are locked up here for a spell as that plays out at these rates.
