Hi! In prescreen questions, recruiter email asked for salary. I didn’t provide range but said market rate (assuming job portal for L6 - $185k base). I am already at $190k base. Recruiter replied stating $130-140k; Asked me to confirm. I replied to move forward in the process. In this market, I just want to get through interview and then negotiate. Does Amazon do such low ball? What are the chances of negotiating such big gap later once offer comes?

I had a first interview last Tuesday with Amazon, which I think went well, although I still haven't heard back 6 days later and then got an OOO annual leave msg and a no response when I chased up the named colleague today. I found Google and Facebook recruiters to be efficient and TikTok so-so, if not a little slow, but 6 days+ seems poor.

Have an offer from AWS for an L7 Principal PMT role: $215k base + $275k sign on bonus for Year 1 and $215k for year 2 + 5100 RSUs (@ $130 / share). Amazons excessive interviews are an awful candidate experience. Why do they think this will help them win top talent in this competitive environment? Especially with their public cultural issues…? Lots of great paying companies without having to take a day off from work to interview! It’s overkill
