Hi, looking for apartments in the city in lakeview, Lincoln park, Logan square and buck town. My criteria is washer/dryer , covered parking and a den . Apartments meeting that criteria are 2K a month for 1 bedroom and a den minimum, is this the cheapest I can get? Thanks in advance for your help.

Not even close to the cheapest you can get. You need to get off the Internet and walk the streets though looking for “for rent” small landlord signs. Logan specifically can be had much cheaper unless you must have new construction (which is lame anyway).

Hi everyone, I’m an architectural designer (from Europe) with 1.5 yrs experience. I’m working for a practice in San Francisco, full-time from the office, getting 25 an hour. It is so expensive to live here, I am struggling to make things work. Is this a normal salary for someone of my experience or should I ask for a raise? I don’t want to be greedy but it’s so expensive out here… Thank you 🌈

Our district is so lax on the students this year. With tech issues and distance learning days, we’ve gone from accommodating to enabling real quick. No penalties for late work, taking excuses for attendance, lower academic and behavioral standards... We were beginning to make so much progress on transforming our school culture, but this year is erasing that and then some. Is anyone else concerned about how to raise the expectations and students’ self-discipline back to pre-enabling levels?

Just moved into an apartment in Old Town. The insulation for both sound and heat is terrible. I can hear everything going on outside and am nervous that the heat/gas bill will be insane.

We live near a train stop (~200 yards away) and hear it crystal clear.

Do you think my landlord will do anything to fix it if we ask? I’m more concerned about the noise. Any tips?
