Hi, I work in TCS CTC: 3.36 LPA currently on notice period. I got an offer from a Capital advisor firm. They are currently working manually and want to transfer their system in IT. My role is to create cloud environment for their everyday data after that to clean, filter data. After that create a algorithm model. I have skills of ML and basic of SQL. I am currently getting paid $61K as an HRIS Analyst in NY for a company with 4000+ employees. I was an intern for two years and became full time a year ago. I graduated very recently too so I feel like that’s why they lowballed me. I want to ask for a raise because I definitely think I deserve to be paid more for all the work that I do but also don’t want to risk losing this job. Alright folks - I have the rescue cattle dog, Poppy. She's been doing great with training. She's a completely different dog than she was 2 months ago. I am starting her on the Middle command (stand between my legs). She seems reluctant. More so than any other command. I understand that the first training session is always a little rough. Any advice on how to request a 20% raise? This is my first career out of college. I signed my offer letter knowing that I was being underpaid by 10%, as per the posted position salary. My 1-year appraisal is close and I would like to request 20% based on an increased workload; I would also like to make up for being underpaid my first year.

My dilemma: Many companies only pay up to a 4% raise. However, that will not cover much in this economy, and I would still be still underpaid.

Ok this is probably a dumb question, but I can’t seem to find the answer on my own…. I have been in public my whole career so never had a job offer with RSU’s. Offer includes RSU’s that vest over 4 years for an IPO. 2 questions - if the company never goes public are they worth anything? And do I need to pay taxes on the amount that vests every year regardless if they go public or not?

I accepted a role in New York City but my direct manager said I can work from home in Boston instead. My understanding is that I would be paying NY taxes, but not MA taxes. Can anyone here confirm? Also, would my employer have to incur any additional taxation because I am remote? They’re a really small firm and I worry that this sort of thing could be prohibitive for them despite my manager’s approval.
