Good question. I sat down with 2 firms this week and showed them a list of how few candidates meet their requirements. One was willing to expand but the other was not.
So, the answer is it depends. I do think firms have been holding out for the unicorn and we will see standards drop slightly come late March.
Is there any chance they’ll start considering the last prestigious candidates any time soon? Or will they continue holding out for people to move to Houston?
2021 seems like they were passing out jobs like candy. Even ID attorneys were able to lateral up.

Lol idk how that typo even happened. OP is probably like never! 🤣
“T25” is hysterical.
Do recruiters ever "give up" on non responders to cold emails?
I get 4-5 a week hawking texas lit jobs. I never answer because i have zero interest in changing firms this year. But i kinda want to keep getting them in case things change or the firm cans me.
So I rarely send cold emails, as I just don’t have time. I’m busy servicing existing candidates. I think it’s very strange for someone to follow up more than twice so 4-5 follow up emails is excessive.
If 4-5 different recruiters, no we don’t ever give up! But don’t use a recruiter who emails you the fastest, do some due diligence. Ask for referrals. Yesterday, a firm gave me a major heads up on a rare corporate job. Use someone who the TX firms use and like!
