Depending on where you are living, I would not come back to Toronto until the 2nd half of 2026. The job market in Toronto needs time to get better.
If you are set to graduate in spring 2026, I would not push that off, but start your job search this year as the market for new grads is tougher than for experienced individuals. Also, I would not just look at getting a job in Toronto or Canada if you had the option. While the job market in the US is not the best, it is much better than Canada at the moment.
If you’re stable where you are it’s better to stay. It’s a very tough job market here right now
If you like the culture in Canada, then move when you secure a job. I personally would rather not live here, but that's due to culture more than economics - though the economics of Toronto are pretty lousy like others have stated
What is the West? Anglo Saxon countries + Western Europe?
That's pretty pessimistic. I'd like to think that large parts of the US are warm.

I love Toronto, so I would come back anytime
Don’t come here unless you have a job in your hand. Job market is not good right now. I would say it’s not a good time to come to Canada. The economy is down and so is the job market. Cost of living is high in Toronto and GTA plus it has now become too much crowded in my opinion. It is comparatively still safe as compared to other big cities around the world but the crime rate here has gone up in the last few years. Housing prices during the last year or so have gone down compared to covid time but it is still high. So make a wise decision
