How are you supposed to get IV compounding experience if the hospital you work at won’t let you train?! I’m so frustrated. I’m certified and have my license to do so.

I got into my hospital through the experience I gained at a home infusion pharmacy.

I was in same situation, the hospital would not train me so I went on my own to Texas to get certified thru pharmacytechnician , once I got certified they still made excuses so I went to work for an infusion clinic and it was the best thing I did for ME.

like

It depends on the hospital. Try a teaching hospital. I got hired with no IV compounding experience at the hospital I’m at.

Hey everyone, What would you say is the difference between an account director and a senior account manager. I was just promoted as an account director when I quit my job and moved to the U.K and now having so much trouble finding a job as an AD. My last interview feedback was that they really liked me but felt like I was lacking new bizz skills and that the organic business growth opportunities I found and jumped on were “luck aka right place at the right” moment kinda thing?

2. The guilt of leaving a role where I have an amazing working relationship with all my colleagues and my boss

Any tips would be appreciated as I am a mess of nerves!!

Additional Posts in Pharmacy Technician

Anybody willing to share what company they work for in Chicago/Chicago land area, what they make, and whether or not they’re certified??? I’m looking for a change of pace.

I just found out that a new person at work that has been with us at the hospital for about 2 months max is making more than I am by quite a bit. This person has about 19 years of retail experience and can only work 2 shifts with us. I have about 7 years of of hospital experience all at the same place and I’m able to cover any shift in our pharmacy, super user for all of our systems, trained in our PN iv room, oncology iv room and our main iv room, also RIVA system admin. Do you think it’s fair?

Hi everyone, I’ve been a pharmacy technician for about 1 yr now; my first pharmacy was Walmart but I recently started at Walgreens. I HATE Walgreens. Their whole workflow and system is dinosaur and we don’t get a BREAK!! So I am on my feet 71/2 hours everyday it’s ridiculous smh. Idk what to do. Is all Walgreens like this or is it my location lol

Finding out the range for Pharmacy Techs is $19 -$28. Been lowballed like hell. Not sure how to even negotiate for more. And this 1% yearly raise doesn't keep up with cost of living.

Does anyone work or have worked for St Luke’s Hospital either in Des Peres or in Chesterfield Missouri thinking of applying

Anyone know of any WFH tech jobs that are hiring right now?

Can all technicians share if you're registered or certified and how much you're currently making? (Hospital, retail, independent, etc.) I'm transferring from retail where I'm underpaid to a Hospital trainee position and I don't know the pay range or what I should ask for. I'm registered already and this position requires it within 1yr. But I applied because I don't have Hospital experience. I want my compensation to reflect I'm already registered.

Full time Pharmacy Tech in Pittsburgh and I make $16.50/hour in a retail setting. I've been doing it for over 3.5 years. I love my job but I am thinking of finding a new one because my boss had to fight the company to get me to that rate and I don't think they are going to budge much past that. Plus there is no real opportunity for growth.

Does anyone work at a chemotherapy infusion because I'm going to start working and i want to know how much to ask for before i start
