How big of a deal should benefits be in the workplace? My company is great with flexible working, but we get the minimum annual leave, very low pay etc. I feel like I can never bring anything up because the work life balance is so unbelievably good, I would feel cheeky asking for more.

Benefits are VERY important when considering offers. I would not want to work for a company that didn't offer a good benefits package. Then you end up paying extra for benefits out of pocket.

This is what I’m finding now, my day to day work is absolutely amazing but the benefits are awful and I’m not sure what is more important!

I’m kind of in the same boat. I get very little PTO, but my team has very flexible hours. So even though I’m technically working, if I have a personal event during the day I can just move my work hours to the evening. I appreciate the flexibility, but wish I could have more full days off.

I feel the exact same way. As we are results based, we can’t take many full days off as we always have to be available.
So if I decided to take a long weekend and get all my work done in 4 days, I’d still need to take my laptop and be available.
It was advertised as unlimited annual leave, but it’d actually only 18 days !

Try to assign a dollar amount for each benefit. A lot of them are easy to do, but work flexibility may have to be something you figure out what it’s worth for you.

I’m in Deloitte human capital and want to eventually (but sooner rather than later) move to industry doing internal talent/people stuff. My coach recommended getting SPHR or equivalent. Thoughts?

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

I’ve completed the first interview with the hiring manager and a colleague, and have been fortunate to get to the next stage but im unsure how to prepare. I’ve done the usual compentencies, strengths and weaknesses and company research. But I don’t want to fail at the last hurdle as I really like this company and it would be a dream to work there any support or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in finance/tech FPA, looking to go back to the defense industry for a 25% increase in TC. But wanted to see if I should leverage the new salary with current company to see if they'll match.

Background: got a promotion at current company that didn't come with sufficient increase . After stating my case I was told it would be evaluated next October, which is what prompted the initial job search.

Current TC 103K [88/15], offer 125k base [+discretionary bonus].
