Usually it’s the support teams that’s gets let go more often than not as they do the mergers. Typically, firms usually staff their client facing resources in line with business needs so there shouldn’t be an immediate culling there, but always possible
In my experience, most of the client-facing turnover comes from people being averse to change and just leaving (which is actually a bigger change...but I digress.)
Client facing professionals who perform at an average or better level have should have no concerns

They straight up said in the announcement at BT that internally facing people would be the “synergies” AKA let go
I hate corporate speak like "synergies"! For the partners of Moss Adams, this is a merger, they acquire ownership shares. But for the employees of Moss Adams, just know, it's basically an acquisition from your perspective. Be ready for cuts.
I would say its probably pretty common. It is going to depend on which groups they have most extra people in. I would imagine that varies by merger
We will go before BT
Pretty common, always targets low performers (not meeting metrics)
Layoffs usually comes in waves. Some layoffs will occur around merger date and more layoffs will transpire over the next 12 months.
