How do I make the jump from a retail-facing planning/advice role at Fidelity Investments to something less public-facing but still very well compensated? I would rather do something more analytical like IB rather than trying to get John Q Public to start a managed IRA. I only have 1 year exp at Fidelity, this is my second career, I’m married and 28 y.o., have Series 7 and 66, and 2 B.A. degrees completely unrelated to finance/business. Any tips?

Does anyone else just not even want to be a people manager anymore?! The amount of work this is taking, I’m just so over it. In addition to them piling on my work (which is a full time job) the people management stuff is just as much a full time job that no one in management seems to take into account. I have tried countless times to explain this but I end up burnt out, everyone suffers including me. I just left one role bc of it and now this new role, same thing. I’m over it.

Higher offers at 27-28 with more fixed pay is from contract and hire/fire type companies. Mostly indirect hiring instead of direct employment with the final employer, means higher pay with lower jon security - we get little more pay, companies get the option to let go with ease later!
