Yesterday was my last day. Anyone else form ITS get laid off?

I met on Tinder 4 this ago. We’ve been seeing each other pretty much every day since our first date and this this weekend we went abroad for a short trip. Everything was fine and we had a good time. We have not labeled our relationship but he said he’s not seeing anybody else (neither am I). But, while on holiday, I noticed he was still on tinder. What does this mean? Is he just “checking” or is it a sign that he’s not into me?

Should I stay with my current company? I have an offer on the table from another company and an offer internally for a different group. Pay about equal. That being said, the perks are slightly different. I’m losing a lot of perks like less PTO at the new place but better insurance overall. What are your thoughts?

Anyone have experience with having trouble with background checks because you got laid off between when you submitted your job application and got the offer? This might come up and I’m afraid of what to say or do if it does.

I was affected by layoffs about a month ago and urgently looking for a good immigration lawyer. The lawyer should be experienced in handling this 60 day grace period situation and developing alternate strategies - such as change of status to B1/B2 or applying to jobs from India. There is a lot of noise and wrong information going in the market so looking for good recommendations.

Employer requires use of vacation for sick days for non-exempt salaried employees, then surprises everyone with a forced, unpaid week at the end of the year due to shutdowns. At this point, most people that can afford to plan for the week of vacation time they have to use at the end of the year.

Is this common practice? I am pretty sure it is completely legal, but still seems like a bad policy.

For those of you who were laid off this year and have managed to find new jobs, did your compensation increase, decrease, or stay the same, from old job to new job?

Considering leaving my firm due to having to work vacations. I have attempted to take two vacations since starting with my firm, and each time it has been scuttled due to partners giving me huge projects while I’m away. I have been super burnt out lately and needed a week away. Do your jobs respect your vacation time? How to do you set boundaries?

I could use some perspective from my fellow 🐠: had an interview with a Deputy GC a little over 2 weeks ago. They said at the end of the interview that they were going on vacation so it might take a little longer than usual to hear back. They did not provide a timeline for next steps otherwise.

So, I started working full-time at a retail store for clothing and accessories and after a brief dispute with my supervisor (my bike broke down which made me come in 20 minutes late to y shift) they told me that it seems like working is not my priority, so to make it easier on me I would only get 20 hours a week.
