I try to share concrete examples with my team so it’s less about opinion and more about real signals from the market. Open discussions and small-scale A/B testing have also helped us ease into new directions, balancing brand consistency with needed updates so everyone feels part of the shift.
We try really hard to be reactive to different trends in the industry and online. But unfortunately, my CEO is really resistant to us changing our messaging or branding. So every time, it feels like a battle 😆
It doesn't matter what the team may be attached to. You have to go with what works, and if material has gone beyond its effectiveness it needs to be retired and replaced with something better. The key is to be creative and keep iterating. Check the data and if things aren't working tweak them to make them work, maybe give things some time to work, but ultimately just move on to another approach.
I think you have to adapt in order to stay relevant in this job market. It might be a hard transition but your team will also learn how to adjust.
