My manager casually threw out that she had an exec tell her it’s fine if she wants to close my division down next year. We are a niche team in a large company. I asked her to clarify as I am worried about my team (and me) she said we would be “well taken care of” as in receive severance…she was so casual about it and said she didn’t know what she would do - we’re performing well, but it’s a small market. What do I do? Warn my team? Look for jobs? I have been here for 20 years w/niche skills…

I’m trying to transition out of property management, at least the 9-5pm situation. Has anyone tried the notary signing agent gig, how has it worked out?

Good morning! I work in Medicare sales and I’m just getting tired of sales because I have to change these elderly people on their insurance very frequently, and it’s frustrating most of the time. I eventually want to be a Christian counselor and I just stared school but that’ll take awhile to get where I want to be. I just want to be happy right now without taking a major pay cut leaving sales. I’m making 80k now, I don’t need to keep making that but a decent amount while still helping people. 🙏

However it seems I should wait and get more exp before applying. Thoughts?

Well-traveled people: what seem like the best major market cities to live in with access to great in-house jobs (FAANG, adjacent companies, etc.). Some markets seem like really fun places to live but seem insanely expensive (San Fran, DC). Others seem like great comp to cost of living ratios but you seem like you’d basically be in a boring suburb (Raleigh, etc.) or have major drawbacks (arctic weather in Chicago, etc.). Maybe I’m totally off base though. Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts.

I have actual daddy issues that manifest as me being very attracted to older men and men in authorative professions 🥵 even yesterday I was at this bar and there was this older guy that I couldn't take my eyes off of. This guy had to be at least 70 but he was tall, he had on a nice suit and his moustache was prim. Just gorgeous 😍 Instead of voicing my R-rated thoughts, I think I said he looked dapper/spiffy/other corny word 😅 my friends are probably definitely judging me

Hi! New on here and this is my first post. I graduated a couple of years ago and am on my second OT position. I am currently PRN at an inpatient mental health setting in an urban area of northeast Ohio. My question is related to hourly pay. If I were to switch from a PRN to part time/full time regular employee position what would be the appropriate pay change to expect? My PRN hourly is currently 48.99/hr...
